OLHA SYTA
Co-founder of CUTOUT COLLAGE ART PROJECT
She was born and lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
At a young age, she was engaged in painting and academic drawing. In 2006, she received her primary art education at the Art Academy of Contemporary Art named after Salvador Dali.
In 2010, she received a bachelor's degree in art history, and in 2011, a master's degree in interior design and case furniture at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design (KNUTD).
From 2011 to 2015, she worked as a private interior designer, and from 2014 to 2015, she simultaneously taught fine arts at the Shevchenkivets Center for Children and Youth.
In art management since 2015 - it was then that cooperation with the Ukrainian artist and sculptor Lina Kondes began in a number of projects, such as "Ukrainian-Latvian art dialogue" in the Museum of History of Kyiv, "Women's art project" in the "Chocolate House".
Subsequently, the professional functions expanded to career manager Lina Condes, which involved extensive analytical activities, direct participation in the development of concepts, as well as control and organization of the project implementation process. In this cooperation, the world saw, in particular, the personal exhibition of Lina Condes Hard Art at the Center for Contemporary Art M17 (2016), the conceptual project Extraterrestrial Odyssey for the 57th Venice Biennale (2017), the Anthropogenic project for Art Miami (2018), the Three Thousand Years project for Lina Condes' solo exhibition at the Crossing Art gallery in New York (2019).
In 2019, she worked as a project manager at the M17 Center for the Fourth Exhibition of the international collaboration project in the field of abstract art Big Circle and at the FRONTIER VR Art Festival of art and virtual reality.
In 2020, she graduated from the Curator's School of the RA Gallery at the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Since October 2019, he has been collaborating with his sister, Ukrainian collage artist Katya Syta, as an art manager. And in 2021, she acted as curator of a solo exhibition of collages by Katya Syta "Through Strange Faces" at the Kyiv History Museum and became a co-founder of the Ukrainian collage art festival CUTOUT COLLAGE FESTIVAL together with Annete Sagal and Katya Syta.
At the beginning of 2023, Olha Syta starts creating collages and joins the residence as an artist.
In addition to the CUTOUT art project, Olha currently collaborates with Ukrainian artists as a curator and art manager, provides consultations and teaches painting at Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.
In October 2024, Olha Syta leaves the curatorial activity of the CUTOUT COLLAGE art project and leaves the residency as a collage artist, remaining a co-founder.
